Bob Griffith: A Life on Water and Land | Wilmington News
from Wilmington News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Bob Griffith, beloved local legend and sailing enthusiast, passed away at 76 after a life rich with adventure, community, and love for animals. A graduate of Washington & Lee and Campbell Law, he traded politics for practice in Newton Grove before finding his true calling on the water—running a charter boat named for his daughter, Kelly, and becoming a fixture at the Cape Fear Yacht Club. Known as a “gentleman farmer” and devoted pet owner (especially to his Boykin Spaniel, Cooper), Bob was cherished across Southport’s bars and restaurants. He is survived by his daughter, sisters, and extended family, and will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and deep ties to his coastal home. In lieu of flowers, honor him by supporting Southport Cares or the American Cancer Society. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
