Bob Huggins Enters Cincinnati Athletics Hall of Fame

Bob Huggins, the legendary Bearcats coach, is set to be honored with induction into the James P. Kelly Cincinnati Athletics Hall of Fame this fall — a fitting tribute to his 16-season tenure that made him the program’s all-time winningest coach. Under his leadership, Cincinnati reached 14 NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four in 1992, won 8 conference titles, and 10 regular-season crowns. The announcement, made by former player Corie Blount, was accompanied by a heartfelt letter from athletic director John Cunningham praising Huggins’ enduring impact. He also mentored future coach Jerrod Calhoun, whom he praised for his player-development skills — a hallmark of Huggins’ own coaching philosophy. As he prepares for his induction on October 23, Huggins’ legacy as a transformative force in college basketball and Cincinnati athletics is cemented for generations to come.
