Bob Marley

from Those Conspiracy Guys · host Gordon Rochford

DEEP DIVE - On this episode we discuss arguably the most famous musician to have ever lived; a man who not only pioneered a music but a movement and while preaching a message of peace through his songs, was repeatedly violently attacked and tragically died before his time; Bob Marley. From a meagre start in the streets of Trenchtown, Jamaica to the dizzy heights of international super stardom, Bob Marley wanted to do more than just sing songs and make money. His mission was to heal through music, to heal what hurts the soul and to heal a broken system that was the cause of the suffering of so many. In this endeavour he made some powerful friends and equally powerful enemies and attempts on his life caused him to have to leave Jamaica. Bob Marley's music and meaning still endure today, as moving and poignant as it ever was. His death, however tragic and untimely, has also been alleged to have been a further plot to silence his powerful voice. ________________________Joining me on this episode are Edwin Sammon and Emmet Quinn.
