Bobbi Block is an actor, director, and producer working in unscripted and scripted theater for 35 years. In 1992, she co-founded ComedySportz Philadelphia (Csz) an organization that showcases improv comedy, where two teams of improvisers compete for points by playing a series of improv games. Bobbi was Csz's Director of Applied Improv for 34 years, Education Director for 15, and Artistic Director for 2. On June 13th from 5pm-7:30pm, an upcoming event, Philly’s Funniest Block, will take place on the 2000 block of Sansom Street. This is a collaborative "legacy project" created by four Philadelphia comedy venues (ComedySportz, Helium Comedy Club, MacGuffin Theatre, & SideQuest Theater) to honor the semiquincentennial by celebrating the pursuit of happiness through comedy. The initiative highlights the 2000 block of Sansom Street as a hub for comedy and entertainment. The event is free and includes comedy interactions, improv games for youth at MacGuffin Theatre, swag giveaways, and business specials. Bobbi joins the show to further discuss the context of the Philly’s Funniest Block Event.
