Bodybuilding for Health, Who Should Compete, and What to Expect from a Coach

from The Women's Fittest Podcast · host Debra Jean Terpstra

Send us Fan MailThanks for listening to another episode of the Women’s Maximum Fitness Podcast! In this solo episode I share my experience with competing in bodybuilding. I talk briefly about the latest social media hype with diuretics and drug protocols coming to light as recently we’ve had several deaths in the industry to competitors. I emphasize the responsibility of coaches and competitors both in a contest prep relationship.I share 6 specific criteria you can check off your list to assess if you’re ready and able to compete, do it well, and hopefully have a great and as healthy as possible experience. Then I share some of what to expect from a coach while explaining how I online coach. And finally to end this episode I share an incredible written review from my client who recently “graduated” from working with me over the last 4 months. Enjoy the show! Outline: Who should compete?Someone who has a reasonable level of body fat at the beginning of an X amount of time prep. (Say 20 weeks or less) Someone with a decent amount of muscle for the desired category. (people are truly delusional about their gains FYI)People who don’t have current or recent previous mental or eating disorders.People who have a few thousand dollars to pay for a prep. (Minimum)People who know how to train for hypertrophy ie: connecting with the muscle and with proper intensity. Otherwise you will look skinny soft on stage.Someone who has been training and eating for bodybuilding consistently for at least a year after their trial/beginning years. Check out my Amazon link to shop what I shop: https://www.amazon.com/shop/buffcake22Coaching inquiries: email Debra at [email protected] and request my FREE assessment form. Subscribe to the Women’s Maximum Fitness podcast as new episodes drop every Monday and throughout the week.
