El carnet de identidad y licencia de conducir digitales se planifican habilitar como documentos oficiales en Bolivia y tendrán validez en todo el territorio nacional, aunque su obtención sería voluntaria. Su vigencia sería de dos años y, como pasa con los documentos físicos, estarían bajo administración del Servicio General de Identificación Personal (Segip)
