Bomb squad called after inert grenade thrown at North Philadelphia home

from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand

False alarm in North Philadelphia, where police say a grenade thrown into a home turned out to be inert. Officers first arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. at 4th Street and Courtland Street in the Feltonville neighborhood. The city's bomb disposal unit was eventually called in. They safely secured the grenade just after 3:30 a.m. After examination, they determined the grenade was inert with no danger to the public. No one was hurt from this. Police are looking for whoever threw it. (Photo: Matt Gush/Getty Images)
