Hello, Roy here. I just wanted to let you know that you can listen to the Roy Green Show ad-free on Amazon Music, included with Prime. Puck drops, tip-offs, first pitches, kick-offs. When the game is on, you call the shots.
Head to betway.ca and bet your way. Must be nice and plus Ontario only. If they're responsible, concerned about your gambling, visit connexontario.ca. My good friend, I'm Chacho host of M640 and on the Ontario Network, Alex Pearson.
I've been waiting to get your opinion and your read on Ontario, Alex. Thanks for taking the time on your Sunday afternoon. My pleasure. I'm just hanging out cobwebs, because that's what you do on a Sunday afternoon.
Of course. I'm taking down cobwebs and you're hanging out. Well, I'm trying to make my house scarier than this election, but I can't quite do that. So let's start off with the first question that I asked Andrew Sharon.
It has to do with the People's Party of Canada and the Seek and Destroy Nation. What's your take on that? Oh, campaigns are campaigning? I mean, honestly, this would be more shocking if a campaign didn't do that.
Now, I have absolutely no idea who did what to whom, what contracts are designed for welcome politics. I mean, politics is a ruthless, brutal, mean, vicious world. And to think that, you know, every time a brown envelope is delivered, any time a story has an exclusive shortage, this is how it's done. Campaign hire consultants, PR firms that go around digging dirt.
No one actually does it better than the liberals. And then when it comes time to elections, they drop these stories. And so to think that one party's looking for dirt on another, okay, yeah, it's Sunday, hi, welcome to Sunday, this is politics, and it's a terrible world. Now you know why we never run politics.
And there's so much at stake when you think about what's at stake in every election. They're going to do everything they possibly can, and Mr. Sheerich just said what they did was not illegal. Well, he didn't tell us what they did, but, you know, if you're not answering a question, we're all going to jump to a conclusion.
But whatever they did or may not have done, it wasn't illegal, and that's on the record. Well, and again, how do you think we learned about Watergate? You know, this is what happened in the campaign. And we already knew that this campaign was going to be dirtier than ever.
But what this campaign has turned into, I'm actually going to write about this, it's the National Enquirer election. There all has been a series of kick jobs. And I'm so angry about it, Roy, because we are not talking about what needs to be talking about. We're not talking about health care.
We're not talking about the pending recession. We're not, you know, we talked about Alberta, what, on Friday because Greta went to visit. It's appalling what this election has been about for Canadians because there are very big issues. And they're not being discussed because even so-and-so's got a hit on this person and that person.
And they hit on that Sheer. And voters can do with it what they like. It's just, yet again, another distraction, another hit to him to isolate and distract the message. And, you know, it works.
Welcome to politics in 2019. You know, this is why I said and I tweeted and I emailed and did every which way I could try to get the message out before the campaign started. And it was this. Decide how you're going to vote based on the last four years, not on a five-and-a-half-week campaign.
Now, there may be something in the campaign that is important and it will enter the equation, but your vote really should be a reflection and a verdict on what happened in the last four years. Absolutely. Look, what happened to Vice Admiral Mark Rohn alone should have taken out this whole government, never mind all the other crap, SNC, and all that. That alone, what they did with the Prime Minister's Office of weaponizing that office to take it, a decorated naval officer.
And sadly, people don't know the whole story of that because the littles made sure, oh, you went away and had to pay a big sum of money. But the bottom line is, that alone should have taken them out. Then you had the SNC. Then you had, you know, people falling behind the middle class in taxes.
Then you take all the blackface and all that stuff. There's so many things that the government's done. And then there's Alberta. The way they have isolated and alienated Alberta.
Alberta has become Canada's piggy bank and worse, now the punching bag. The way that province has been treated more so in this election campaign is truly disgusting. I mean, if you look at the country now, and I get a lot of blowback away when I say, boy, do I wrong with the Jason Harper. So, well, he was the most evicted guy ever.
Okay, maybe you didn't like his politics, but what we didn't have under Harper or Christian or Martin or anybody else is the decision. Not just Quebec now with the block writing, but Alberta talking to the session. That's on Trudeau. So when you go to the voting pool tomorrow, and I'm with the mind going, I will not.
And I don't know why anyone would reward the kind of behavior that we have seen. I don't care who people vote for, but no one in their right mind should be rewarding the liberals with what they got. Vote for things, vote for, you know, sheer vote for illicit men. When do we just reward this stuff?
And it goes on and on and on. We have the conflict of interest violations. We have the ethics violations. And it just continues.
The idolization of Fidel Castro. We can just go back to the very beginning when he said, and to me this was one of the most, maybe the most telling remark from Justin Trudeau, that Canada's going to be the world's first post-national state. Whoa. Yeah, that's just fair people.
But, you know, Canada's not back at all. Canada, in fact, has more damage on the world stage than we ever have. And after this election's over, if you don't get a chance to go again, all the stuff with S&C continues. It doesn't go away.
And then India. We have no relationship with India. The damage of that trade relation is absolutely dead in the water because of this government and some people with the dress-up stuff. But again, we're not talking about that.
So how do you fix that? China. How do you fix China, which is so much more dangerous to this country than ever before? We're not talking about that.
This government has to get us out of that stuff and a recession. So when people vote too long, it can't be about their personality. It can't be about who is the nice guy, who is the cool. Anderson might have done something.
Guess who did something many times and badly and bent the rules and broke the rules? The party now. That's what I think people need to think about. Let me ask you a final question here.
What are you getting from the province of Ontario, 416905? What are you expecting? I don't know. I hope I get some common sense.
At the end of the day, I don't know. It's so close. And we say a lot like your vote matters. This is one of those elections where if people sit home, it's that close that your vote won't matter.
Some of the writings we're talking about in the 905 are so close. There's going to be a handful of votes here and there. So it really does matter if you actually do go out and vote. I do think at the end of the day, conservatives will mobilize and get out there and vote.
It's a pretty sure thing. But, you know, again, I don't know what we're voting for, Roy. Are we voting for a coalition of the left or are we voting for each party? Because I don't even think people understand what we're voting for.
And that in itself is unfair. Yeah. You know, people ask me, what's your feeling? Who do you think is going to win?
And I've been, over the last five or ten years, I've never been shy to express an opinion on who's going to win an election. I've been pretty good at it. I have no idea. I have absolutely no idea.
None. No, you know, I called Trump the day he put his name in for that race. I think he will win. No question.
I did that for, I did it with a lot of, I can't think of this one, dear. I really can't. Thank you so much for taking the time on the Sunday Back to the Conwebs. Yeah, but I just, you know what?
I just want the listeners to understand. There is a consequence to this election. There really is. And it won't be until I think, Roy, people get that consequence.
And maybe a recession. It may be the country. It might be Alberta. Thanks, yeah.
There will be a consequence if people don't vote and really think about where they place that check. Yeah, next week could be far more energetic than this last one. God help us. Thanks, guys.
