🇬🇧 Bonus: An international anti-corruption court with Pusetso Morapedi

Pusetso Morapedi is the Africa coordinator for Integrity Initiatives International, the organisation working to make the international anti-corruption court (IACC) a reality (6:29). Pusetso shares with us her path to fighting corruption (1:30). She then tells us how the project for an IACC came about (8:19). The purpose of the court will be to investigate and prosecute cases of grand corruption (10:42). Pusetso gives two examples of grand corruption from Namibia and Mozambique (12:49). She tells us what the main features of an IACC would be. The IACC will not replace national courts. It will act as a complementary mechanism to put an end to impunity (16:55). We also discuss potential obstacles such as lack of cooperation (25:28). A draft treaty is currently being drafted (31:03). Pusetso hopes that the court can be set up within the next 3 years.
