There are seasons when life no longer looks the way we imagined. The diagnosis comes. The relationship changes. The waiting stretches on. The prayers seem unanswered. We find ourselves asking, God, what are You doing? Can I still trust You? While we long for quick answers and immediate resolution, God often does some of His deepest work in the waiting. Drawing from the Exodus story, Numbers 11, and Isaiah 40, Lisa reflects on what it means to trust God's character when we cannot understand His timing. She explores the difference between lament and complaint, the illusion of control, and why the wilderness becomes "trust school" for every believer. Is there an unanswered prayer, a painful waiting, or an uncertain future where God is inviting me to trust Him? As you pray, ask the Lord to reveal whether your heart has been moving toward lament that keeps you close to Him—or complaint that is quietly pulling you away. What burden am I still carrying with clenched fists? Spend a few moments picturing yourself opening your hands before the Lord. What is He inviting you to release into His care today?
