[Bonus Episode] Finding Safety in the Midst of Global Events

The episode is actually a recording of a live, virtual event Luis hosted for the HLN Membership and Course participants. HLN members and students often ask "How can I feel safe, calm or peaceful in a word that is dangerous or where there are so many horrific things happening?"In the wake of the US Supreme Court's over-turning of Roe v. Wade (as well as a recent shooting and the outbreak of war), Luis was asked to create a space to explore this dynamic. In this recording, Luis walks us through the difference between acknowledgement and attunement as well as a practice that can help us relate to the part of our bodies that may be bracing on the wake or a political or social event while gently challenging us to notice whether we are bracing for a present threat or an anticipated threat.
