from The Contrast Project Lounge: Randon. Relevant. Real. · host Tracy Rigdon

As the Pandemic sweeps across the nation, and the world, one of the previously unrecognized responses has been the toll it's taken on many peoples mental health and wellbeing. We sat down with Dr Tracye Polson, PhD, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist to discuss how some people are coping with this phenomenon. Dr. Polsons' Treatment specializations include:  * Psychotherapy for Adults & Couples   * Parenting Support  * Grief and Loss Counseling  * Work and Career issues  * Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Management   " I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond.  In addition, I offer psychotherapy, supervision and consultation for other licensed mental health professionals." Dr. Polson and I discussed various modalities to aid those who have found themselves struggling with their mental health and wellbeing, including therapy, counseling and even the use of medical marijuana in some patients as appropriate.   Some of the issues as related by The CDC:   * Feelings of fear, anger, sadness, worry, numbness, or frustration  * Changes in appetite, energy, and activity levels  * Difficulty concentrating and making decisions  * Difficulty sleeping or nightmares  * Physical reactions, such as headaches, body pains, stomach problems, and skin rashes  * Worsening of chronic health problems *  * Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs   Many Americans increased their alcohol intake during the pandemic, with women and parents of young children disproportionately affected. "Currently, the times are uncertain as a result of the global crisis. Many are losing their jobs every day, and eking out a living is becoming a serious challenge. As a result, most individuals are suffering from stress, depression, and anxiety. The solution for such issues for most individuals is taking to the bottle, which provides an escape from the senses." #mentalhealth #wellbeing #pandemicresponse #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthissues #mentalhealthcounseling #medicalmarijuana #medicalmarijuanapatient Follow The Contrast Project online: http://www.thecontrastproject.tv/
