BONUS: Interview With Star Wars Author Laura Pohl

from Determination, Deliberation, and Dragons

We interviewed an author who wrote a Star Wars short story! Laura Pohl is the author of "Trooper Trouble" in the anthology series "From a Certain Point of View." Her story is featured in the Return of the Jedi book. It tells the story of a stormtrooper tasked with standing in the hanger of the Death Star as important members of the Empire visit the new battle station. Working for the Empire comes with some problems: the working hours are long, the coworkers are difficult to get along with, no one is training them to use blasters, the paychecks have all been delayed, and there isn't any caf in the breakroom. It's a fun story that sheds some light on one of the largest and most unappreciated workforces in the Empire. We had so much fun talking with Laura about her short story and what it was like being able to publish a story in the Star Wars universe.
