from Sinners Among Saints · host Megan and Lindsay
Send us Fan MailThe Nutty Putty Cave incident occurred on November 24, 2009, in Utah when 26-year-old John Edward Jones became trapped while exploring the cave with his family. Nutty Putty Cave, a popular spelunking site known for its narrow, twisting passages, posed significant risks even for experienced cavers. John became stuck upside down in a tight, L-shaped crevice called "The Birth Canal," approximately 100 feet below the surface.Rescue teams worked tirelessly for over 24 hours to free him, using pulleys, ropes, and other equipment, but his position made extraction incredibly difficult. Tragically, the extreme pressure on his body and restricted blood flow caused cardiac arrest, and he passed away. His body was never recovered due to the dangerous conditions, and Nutty Putty Cave was permanently sealed shortly after the incident to prevent future tragedies. The event highlighted the risks of caving and the challenges of cave rescues.Support the showThanks for all the support!!
