In this thought-provoking bonus episode, Diamond Thaxton is back to explore a topic that resonates with many: the psychology behind procrastination and strategies to conquer it. Diamond is a psychotherapist and Chief Transformational Officer of Thanxton Therapy.  Along with being a clinical psychotherapist, she is also an adjunct professor of Psychology and Addictions at multiple junior colleges. After struggling with borderline personality disorder and tragic life events, she experimented with many healing therapies, from cognitive behavioral therapy to Ketamine Assisted Therapy and other holistic therapies.  After deep healing and still feeling like something was blocking her from true self-enlightenment, and since she was unable to find retreats in central New York that specialized in these unique modalities, she decided it was up to her to bring this into the community.  Diamond identifies procrastination as “the avoidance of unpleasant tasks in favor of quick, enjoyable activities.” During their conversation, they discuss the importance of focusing on discipline over motivation, the impact perfectionism can have on decision-making, and the 3 main takeaways for tackling procrastination.   To check out Diamond’s website, click here.  To connect with Diamond on Instagram, click here.  To connect with Alex Canavan, click here.  To connect with the Cultivate Podcast, click here.
