Bonus- Ruth Wilson

from The Unseen Podcast · host The Unseen Podcast

This was an episode that was published on Patreon in January 2020. Ruth's case needs more publicity and it has been suggested to me multiple times. On Monday 27th November 1995, the Wilson Family were in a rush trying to get out of the house for work and school. Ian and Karen Wilson were both teachers and were in a hurry to get to work while Ian's two daughters Ruth and Jenny were getting ready for school. 16 year old Ruth told her sister on this day however that she was not going to get on the bus with her as normal. She explained she was going to go to the library to do some work. This was not necessarily unusual as Ruth was now in Sixth Form and didn't have lessons every day. It was unusual however when Ruth did not return home at all. A police investigation began which would uncover some strange circumstances surrounding Ruth's disappearance. A documentary many years later would also uncover some previously unknown information. The Documentary Vanished; The Surrey Schoolgirl was a large part of my research for the case. It is an excellent documentary and I would highly recommend it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfkAO8VcKBgI also used some articles about the casehttps://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/apr/29/ruth-wilson-surrey-schoolgirl-vanished-documentaryhttps://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/new-ruth-wilson-documentary-claims-14586554https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/could-dark-family-secret-hold-12510762https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/exmet-officer-from-belfast-and-his-search-for-missing-teen-ruth-wilson-36882988.htmlIf you would like to support on Patreon have a look here: https://www.patreon.com/theunseenpod?fan_landing=trueMusic by DL SoundsFollow the Unseen Podcast on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-unseen-podcast/id1318473466?uo=4Follow the Unseen Podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0xWK7Mu3bTP6oziZvxrwSK?si=QxvyPkZ2TdCDscnfxyeRawFollow the Unseen Podcast on Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-unseen-podcastJoin our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/unseenpodFollow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/theunseenpodFollow us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/theunseenpod/
