Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do this is breaking news it is breaking news. It's um, yeah It's kind of crazy news. Okay. Yeah, so we're gonna.

This is a special bonus Yeah, so this is kind of a this is a bonus episode. Oh, you guys are really lucky. That's incredible You are lucky. We wanted to take a minute and talk about the summer Wells case that is currently happening in Rogerville, Tennessee Because it's like right over the mountain.

Yeah, which is crazy. Absolutely So we just wanted to take a minute to kind of talk about this case because it is actively happening around us things We're recording this update for you guys on July 2nd. So any additional information that because it'll come out on July the 6th You're hearing this on July 6th. That is a Tuesday.

Okay. That is a Tuesday Okay, I had to take a beat to think about that. So okay, so you're getting this bonus episode on Tuesday And we are about to freak you out because you're going wait, they're saying they're sweet 10 minutes. This is ridiculous Yeah, so we're gonna keep this kind of short for you guys because we're just gonna give you the facts about what's going on because I don't think Our opinions right now are helpful in any way and then we both have thoughts and opinions on what's going on But it's not no like found it or helpful much, you know opinions.

Mm-hmm. Much like assholes. Everybody has one Everybody does have one. So we're gonna keep ours do ourselves My opinion and my ass Okay, so we're gonna dive into this real quick So I'm just gonna kind of go through what we know so far as of now.

Okay, I'm just gonna let's again Okay, so Summer Wells went missing from Roger's ill. She's been missing since June 15th She is five years old. She's white has blonde hair and blue eyes is about three feet tall weighs about 40 pounds She's little she is little and kind of like I said, you know before there's a lot to unpack in this case so far But I don't think you know like we said any of our opinions right now are helpful So we're just gonna keep that to ourselves and move on and hope that she's found that she's not safe and it's okay Yes, so want to give an overview on what we know so far. She was last seen Tuesday June 15th walking near her home on Ben Hill Road She was wearing a pink shirt and gray shorts the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a family member reported her missing around 630 that evening So so pretty light outside.

Yes pretty light outside in June. Yeah, I mean so plenty like daylight right now The scanner audio so please scanner audio stated Quote the parents called in advised that the mother had went for a walk came home and now they can't find her They've been yelling for her. She's been gone for about 10 minutes now and quote summer has very short hair Her father Donald Wells stated that he was at work when summer went missing Summer's mother Candace told police that summer was with her and her mother planting flowers on the property Summer went wanted to go into the house Candace watched her go into the house Summer's three older brothers Josie age 12 why at age 11 and wail and age 9 were all inside and we're playing on the internet According to Candace and summer wanted to go downstairs to like the basement level of the house. I guess and play with her toys Candace went for a walk and told the boys to watch summer She then says that she was gone, you know only like two minutes.

There's a quick stroll clear head I guess I don't know there are other reports that I've seen where Candace says no she didn't go for a walk So I don't know that's part is a little fuzzy to me. So both kind of versions are out there But anyway, she was you know not in the house for like two minutes is what she says When she came inside the boys said that summer was down to the basement playing and we can't just called out for summer She didn't respond so you know as any mother would she went down and checked to see like hey, what is she doing? I would think oh my gosh was my kid got into Well when they're quiet when they're quiet or struggle. Yeah, yeah, so she went on check on her and she wasn't there Both parents stated that summer was not the kind of kid that would wander off and they from the beginning of this have said they strongly believe that somebody took her So it's that would be absolutely terrifying every family is worse than I can't even imagine The family stated that summer was the boss of the family She could play with the boys and would quote give them a run for their money So sounds like she was kind of a tough like tomboy type a little girl, which I was too when I was great I was you know group on a farm that tomboy like Rollin playing in the dirt and then go dance and then I would go dance class.

Yes. Yeah, so A family shared that they are getting a lot of negative comments online and even in their own community about you know People's rumors and suspicions about what happened people are cruel people are mean. I don't think you know Whatever your thoughts are it's appropriate to be hounding a family that has a missing kid, right like That's we're not judging jury here. No, we're not judging jury here and you shouldn't be either You're not unless you are a judge, but you're not a judge on this case exactly so Sit down.

So your role. So your role. Yeah, just let's let this play out See what happens Now at the beginning of the search so there was a massive search launch there were over at 120 agencies From Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina Wow that all came in to search for this world they covered 4.6 square miles, which is over 3,000 acres Which doesn't seem like a lot, but the terrain there is just like about a minute is crazy. It's all mountain It's insane.

Yeah, it's insane the fact that they even did that much is mind-boggling to me So over 1,100 and 100 searchers have covered the area logging nearly 14,000 search hours They've done ground searches aerial searches and use dive teams to search local ponds and other water sources where they could get a diver in the water The FBI card team is actively involved which is the child abduction response deployment team It's a very specialized team within the FBI that is highly trained on this sort of stuff So it's not like a psychologist's own how you know, it's a neat I mean, it's a neat program like I hated exists, but right I'm glad that it's a neat it's a good thing that is there Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said that crews were having a really hard time searching the area the terrain is insanely rough I just drove over to Tennessee today and like that drive from North Carolina over into Tennessee I mean, it's beautiful, but I was in the vehicle with my dad and we're looking over at my dad and saying man you could just disappear out there Oh, because it's a word mountains. Yes, like it is nothing and you know the line from North Carolina to Tennessee is absolutely the most beautiful drive Oh, it's gorgeous, but you are going into it feels like there's like 20 mile stretch Yes, I've just like cavernous tight mountains where you could just get lost. Yeah, just disappear. It's crazy.

It's crazy I know it's one of those like I mean we talk about these cases where people just step off the trails and are gone And we always oh how would that happen and then you drive through it and you can see oh that's how it could happen. Yeah, I mean so so easily So Terrain's crazy. They have spotty to know self-insurface. I read an article where I think Verizon and another like Selkum 18 team maybe Rodin towers like portable towers to help and that still didn't do a lot I mean it helped, but it's still spotty out there So what I thought was really interesting is that they did not they did not utilize volunteers for this search Um due to the rough terrain and you know the spotty communication And they only used train professionals I think to be fair and not even you know, I you would know that individuals would want to come and help and volunteer But I think when it's a child missing that's just You really want it to be professional You don't want because we've done this before where we talked about you know So many people have helped and it rained and they stepped through footprints You don't want your local boy sculpture about there to do it exactly one for professionals like right one for the integrity of whatever Evidence they might find in two for the safety of you know, people who aren't trained I mean we just talked about how people can step off and be gone.

Exactly. I mean it could happen to somebody I wouldn't be hiking out in there. I have no idea what I'm doing exactly gone. It's just me.

Well, we know that I would have been able to know that so don't volunteer. Okay, okay. Okay, good. Good Yeah, so um They didn't utilize these volunteers.

They've only got train professionals. Okay on June 27th. They did decide to scale back who searched Um, they will continue to use specialized teams to search as more information comes in They are encouraging property owners in the area to search their properties and check for anywhere a child could hide You know, maybe she ran off and hid somewhere. Maybe she got hurt Or something or maybe somebody put her somewhere, you know, and she's hiding or whatever.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so You know, I mean kids do crazy things. Oh, yeah, so they're encouraging, you know, people to check those areas The tens of your investigations stated they are using all investigative tools available to them They did state that quote. Well, every case is different. This one is definitely outside the norm They also stated that they have no evidence currently to point to an abduction They have not ruled it out, but did not have any evidence at this time to confirm exactly what happened So I think A lot of people have read into that to being like, well, they're saying she wasn't abducted.

I don't think that's what they're saying I think they're saying we'd have no idea. We're saying we can't say either way because we we don't have enough to say Yeah, we don't have evidence, you know, there's not like there's a video there's not video footage out there like right in cities You know, you can't pick her up on like a traffic cam or a right like a store security. Oh, she's a sour on the subway Right. Yeah, you can't do that out here.

I mean, it's just You know, you're taking the family's word for it and then you know, if there were any witnesses or anything like that You're having to do that, but it's just it's so hard because there's no No evidence Gosh, it's a point either direction or you know to confirm or deny or anything. So it's very I think I think that's important to remember. You know, that's very hard for investigators You know, I mean, it's especially when it's part of your job You want to solve you want to find the little girl and you know, so that is it's got to be very hard end for the family Yeah, gosh, I can't even imagine They are searching for potential witness as of this time They learned that a Toyota pickup truck was seen in your beach Creek Road, which is nearby on monday june 14th or Tuesday june 15th They weren't sure the exact date The pickup is possibly a 1998 to 2000 maroon or red Toyota Tacoma with a full bed ladder rack along with the white buckets in the truck bed So not saying that this person's a suspect. They're saying it was unusual It was an unusual vehicle that was in the area and they might have seen something Might have been around to see one in this area.

I imagine it's so small that they kind of know everyone So if you're you know a car like that, you'd be like, oh, that's really unusual Right and it may be somebody that would have noticed like a kid walking on the road or right, you know Somebody with a kid that I saw on a bike or she you know, we thought we saw her in this car and maybe they might own that car and you know So who knows what they what they need from this person But they are actively searching to see if they know anything The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation again has encouraged people to stay away from facebook rumors and speculation as it really does absolutely nothing to help bring summer home Now, I know we all like to speculate. I love to speculate. Oh, that's sure. Holly and I will have a full conversation about our thoughts and theories On the case after we stop recording But you're not helpful in an active case like this one.

So we won't be sharing them here right now. So Sorry, yes. Sorry. I mean that's not fair.

It's not fair though again to be complete assholes with our opinions When really we as much as we're presenting this we don't know all the facts We don't know everything and it's not fair to make any kind of assumptions and we wouldn't be any better than the people who are running on Facebook Right. So we're just not gonna do it and other episodes where we do this we try to present theories, but a lot of times these are cases that are 70 80 years old right there well documented well talked about cases This is a case that actually happens that involves I want everybody to remember a five-year-old little girl exactly This is not for your entertainment. This is not you know For you to post on Facebook about whatever you think I mean, it's just not it's not the time it's not the place Right now give it, you know Let's get some more answers. Let's try and find her and let's bring her home.

You know if she is out there and she is You know with somebody She's being held you know, we definitely the goal is to bring her home alive Yeah, and you just you never know you never know what's going on. So yeah, I think it's important to to remember that If you do have any information the TBI is encouraging people to reach out to The Hawkins County Sheriff's office now as I say this as a legit tip that is not from Facebook land, right? You can contact the Hawkins County Sheriff's Department at 423-272-7121 Or the Tennessee Bureau investigation at 800-TBI-FIND And we'll continue to update all this way and learn more. Great job.

You know anything and hopefully it'll be a happy update where I hope You have to see so much to say I hope so but we will see you guys Thursday for our regularly scheduled We are sorry to have interrupted your regular release scheduled programming This has been a holly and haly news bulletin See you guys Thursday. Bye
