And today’s topic is a big one: What Should I Do If...Im being Bullied. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Action Step: Parents — use this episode as more than background noise. Use it as a launching point for a real conversation with your child. Here are some questions to get you started. Ask them gently, without pressure, and be ready to listen without interrupting. The goal is to open the door, not to get all the answers right away. 💬 Questions to Ask Your Child: “Have you ever seen someone get picked on at school or in your neighborhood?” “What do you think bullying looks like? What makes it different from someone just having a bad day?” “Has anyone ever made you feel nervous, embarrassed, or unsafe — on purpose?” “If that ever happened, would you feel comfortable telling me or another adult?” “What do you think Jesus would say to someone being bullied?” “What would you do if you saw a kid sitting alone every day?” “Do you know what to say if someone is being mean to you over and over?” “Has anyone ever said something to you online that felt wrong or hurtful?” “Have you ever done or said something you wish you could take back?” “Is there anything you haven’t told me because you weren’t sure how I’d respond?” These questions help you gently explore both sides of the experience — whether they’ve seen bullying, experienced it, or participated in it. 🚩 Signs That Your Child Might Be Getting Bullied: Even when kids don’t say anything out loud, their behavior often tells the story. Here are some typical signs to watch for: Suddenly not wanting to go to school or church Complaints of stoma ch aches, headaches, or feeling sick before school Torn clothing, missing items, or unexplained bruises Big mood swings after school — especially sadness or anger Trouble sleeping or frequent nightmares A drop in confidence or saying things like, “I’m dumb” or “No one likes me” Changes in eating habits (eating way more or less than usual) Avoiding social situations they used to enjoy Withdrawing from friends or acting distant Refusing to talk about what happened that day Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s loud.
