This week, Alma will teach us about Melchizedek and his ability to use the power of the Priesthood to change a sin-sick city. Alma’s message resonates with some, but others turn violently against the truth. They’ll execute women and children in front of Alma and Amulek, almost daring them to intervene. Later, they’ll strip these mighty men of God of everything possible but Alma and Amulek stand strong. After a harrowing time in prison, they plead for help from the Lord and receive deliverance. Amazingly, they’ll use that freedom to lift the pains of Zeezrom and help restore the Nephites to peace and truth.
