BORESON BONUS: Complete 1981 Stan Boreson Program by Tom McArthur for KPLU

from Cascade of History · host Feliks Banel

THE STAN BORESON-TENNIAL fun continues with this BORESON BONUS EPISODE, courtesy of Tom McArthur, who produced this circa 1981 half-hour show featuring an interview with Stan plus lots and lots of deep cuts from the Boreson catalog. When Mr. McArthur shared this audio with CASCADE OF HISTORY, he wrote: “KPLU had a weekly arts magazine show, at the time - FM88 ArtsPlace - they were always looking for content. As a part-time work-study employee, I suggested shows on Stan Boreson, the Irish Rovers, and others - and they let me do them! I remember borrowing the KPLU station field recorder and riding the bus up to Seattle to interview Stan in his office. He was amiable, kind, and more than generous with his time. Those were the days of old-school audio editing with grease pens and razor blades. I learned then that a microphone was a great way to meet people I never would have had the nerve to approach without it. Audio/video has been a big part of my life's work ever since. Thank you for honoring Stan on your platform. -Tom (a Stanophile and Patches Pal)” CASCADE OF HISTORY is broadcast LIVE most Sunday nights at 8pm Pacific Time via SPACE 101.1 FM in Seattle and gallantly streams everywhere via space101fm.org. The radio station is located at historic Magnuson Park - formerly Sand Point Naval Air Station - on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle.
