In the dead of night as people sleep that is when the spirits creep as the bell tells three dark things take power we like to call it the supernatural hour hey welcome to the supernatural hour podcast this is your host Raven I said that like I was like William Chandler sorry continue this is Chad this is great this is Vama I'm whiskey who what's a whiskey I was key with an E whiskey whiskey so y'all know and love Emmett we've been listening to Emmett's and his fun stories he recently retired and while he is still with the dance paranormal and still with Wisps he wanted to take a little time in his life to do some other other things that he's wanted to know that he's retired so he has stepped back from the podcast he will still come on every now and then as a guest if we need him but we have turned the reins over to whiskey and why do you introduce yourself just smidgen whiskey okay I'll keep it short so I'm whiskey that that is important because there's two kinds of whiskey so once and fun facts look that up super in attack I've been looking into the paranormal world for quite a long time I grew up in a haunted house I think a lot of us always have something that happened in our childhood whether it's trauma or paranormal related who knows over the years I just kind of started looking into it investigating acquiring tools I like really old school methods to just walk around and ask him for stuff to get knocked on and yeah I started California Southern California I've been a place like the Queen Mary a lot of old churches and stuff like that out there and now I've joined this team in Utah and I'm pretty happy to be here we're glad to have you yes we're very glad to have you so we're the business we are still trying to work on getting our February investigation going we did some work over the weekend and didn't get some calls back so I will be following up on that as soon as I can we'll get something up for a February investigation we're probably looking at probably the third week in February but we'll get you more information on that as we nail something down so we've got some places we can always get into but we're trying to get a something new and exciting well they're all they're all excited but something new and exciting so our business has been brought to you by Castle Photo Art go to Castle for all your photo needs he does a great job so as far as residential we have not had a residential since we've podcasted last but our next one we will because we've got a schedule for tomorrow and whiskey is going to take us somewhere to eat and we decided for an either before or after I think paranormal rules they take we have to eat their after by paranormal rules I mean I got IBS so you know who knows what will happen before if you eat cheesecake no it's a it's my my stomach is a paranormal mystery that me and a team of doctors are still attempting to resolve with different methods I have a stomach friend now I can eat carbs potatoes are the worst potatoes bread rice beans all the delicious stuff noodles and only took one episode of me to have a phi breach so now you all know my personal health information and we'll talk to you next time okay so yeah we should have a residential in our back pocket by tomorrow we can so we can just move on to our main topic which is brought to you by Otayos and it is my personal crusade to get everybody in the world to go eat there and I keep taking new people there and the fun thing is every time I take new people there they go back and we recently had one of our listeners got a hold of me and she said we're gonna go to Otayos tonight what do you get and I wasn't able it was a really busy day for me and I wasn't able to get back to where would I always get I get the beef melodic just so you know it is amazing but everything there is amazing if it has fish in it or avocados and it doesn't matter where you eat it I'm not gonna like it because I don't like those but people that like fish and like avocados like that too but she messaged me back after she went and she told me what she got and she said it was amazing she loves it they're gonna go back she says she's got kids going to Utah County for school I think we're moving to Utah County and she says she's gonna visit there more often I am going to be going on Friday when you're listening to this it will actually be this Friday because we're recording this two days before it goes up but I will be there this Friday for lunch with my friends she's never been there so so we're gonna talk about the Borley victory today so where's that at in England Essex I have a look at the victory I knew it was some sort of a religious thing but I'm not of that religion so I had to look it up and the rectory is just kind of the house where the leader of a congregation Protestant the vicar the Protestant Episcopalian congregation and I don't think that this house was necessarily built for the rectory home and I think it was built for something else no it was actually I saw some videos on it and they talked about that there had been a previous directory that had burned down and this one was built as a rectory to replace it and then it burns down and then it burns down something about this side of that good yeah well this church has been around since like medieval times that the record that the rectories associated with okay that makes sense because in the stories I read it the wife of one of the vicars was not very happy because it was all leaking I thought she was the first one but apparently she wasn't the first one there but it's big I mean it's got 32 rooms 11 of which are bedrooms and I thought that's a big house for the vicar and his wife but they probably hosted people and had events there I'm sure that it was they also had for the for the congregation and they just happened to live in part of it kind of the vicar that was there after the home was built and the newer home when I said the one that replaced the one that burned down they had a large family with a lot of children also and a vicar is roughly equivalent to say like an LDS bishop only there over several congregations in in an area like a Catholic father yeah I mean it's yeah kind of that idea so the home let's just give some history about the the rectory it was built in 1862 and it was damaged by fire in 1939 the second fire so I don't know if I'm gonna be building something I'm probably not gonna build it there because it's probably gonna burn down and I don't know what caused the first fire but the second fire was caused by an oil lamp and then it just sat in ruins for a while and then it was finally demolished in 1944 yep but the pictures of it it was kind of pretty back in its back in its heyday back before it burned down yeah it wasn't like a castle or anything really cool but it was a big house it was pretty so most things are prettier before they burned down to everything usually that way I feel like your marshmallow is nice and burned oh you got a point so it had four floors 32 rooms 11 of which were bedrooms if this is something that interests you and you want to kind of see it obviously you can you know google it but I found it interesting a couple movies are not it there's a documentary in 2017 called the Borley Rectory and there's a movie that came out in 2021 called the Ghosts of Borley Rectory it had a one-star rotten tomatoes rating some stuff out there you know maybe not expect greatness but it could be really cool probably won't be disappointed you know rotten tomatoes actually gave return to the Jedi a lower rating than the I don't even know what it's called because I hate it so much the one was Kylo Ren in it the very first new new new one and that's just like lame sauce well that just tells you something because the new ones start right exactly so if you're interested in this go give that a look see I haven't watched the X so I kind of want to see it might be fantastic so there's been paranormal claims to this area forever you know at least that we know of to the mid 1800s as far as this particular building I'm not social about the land or the church across the street but the first documented that's the key word first documented activity occurred in the early 1900s and some people say it was 1928 to be specific you're looking at me where did I say something weird okay I always look at you were said when I said the year wrong so early 1900s 1928 to be specific the owners at the time were a couple they don't mention her name but his name was Guy Eric Smith and the activity in the manner got to the point that he contacted the Daily Mirror which is a newspaper to report it he's like you know there's some weird stuff going on and I always tell people you know they'll call us to do residential and they stammer and they stutter you know because you know when you get to the point that stuff is going on in your home and you sit down and you seriously Google ghost hunters near me you know there's something going on so you know they did the early 1900s version of you know ghost busters near me and they contacted the newspaper so the newspaper thought this was pretty interesting and so they got a hold of a paranormal investigator named Harry Price and Harry Price actually went to the rectory and he lived there for a year now he had the Society for psychophysical research yeah the Society for Psychical Site Search research or as we're not know existed yeah I thought that was that was kind of interesting cycle if I heard that in passing I would think it was cyclical PSY CHICAL is the way I wrote it down yeah it's like that was weird that was a weird pronunciation but the Society for Psychical or something I'm gonna blow it every time research but apparently this society at the time would have been the foremost authorities and apparently very well respected at the time and he did a lot of debunking yes of things and he was also a magician I did not know that yeah so that's gets interesting what are you gonna say whiskey I think the one thing that's I'm a part this is far as like the site for a psychical research I said right you got it right every time we let it say whiskey why don't you say that first but what's I'm a part compared to a lot of other people are debunking and things like that at times he also would declare people genuine people that he believed were genuinely mediums versus just straight out debunking everybody so it's kind of a interesting fact about this guy so kind of both debunk and give them credentials kind of thing exactly so this would have been a little past the whole Victorian medium hype but it still would have been lingering around I mean it still lingers around today but especially then it still would have been very very heavy yeah we're looking 1929 ish I mean so you had a weird thing where he came to visit one time that there were two bottles of wine and one had turned to ink and the other perfume while they were sealed some freaky wine thing so let's talk a minute about and that's part of the reason why I don't drink wine either so let's talk a little bit about the the spooky stuff going on there's actually quite a bit so Harry Price actually wrote a book called the Most Haunted House in England and some say it's the most haunted house in the world and that's gonna be relatively speaking you know it's gonna be depending on what you think it's haunted and places you've been but apparently was pretty haunted so a couple of the things we won't talk about everything but we'll talk about cool ones so the first is a nun there's a lot of people have said that they've seen this nun which brings to mind the nun movie yeah and we we'll talk about that a little later because the Warrens actually went there and that's kind of where the nun franchise may have got it started so the born directory was actually built where there used to be an old monastery and so you'd think why is there a nun where there's old monastery well there's actually a nunnery that was pretty close by you can probably see where this is going one of the nuns happened to meet one of the monks and they fell in love and they decided that they were going to a loop but they were caught and I don't know how it works but I'd be like he left him he loves you go ahead leave a cool loop but apparently there's stuff because they were sentenced to death because they tried to look well this was like back in the middle ages this sure afterwards they were sentenced the monk was sentenced to the gallows and that's what he said you know we're gonna hang you for wanting to get married but the nun apparently was buried alive by being sealed in the nunnery walls and if that's not creepy I don't know what it is it would just be creepy living there and hearing her on the wall screen it's kind of like an edge girl and po exactly that's right I wrote but in my notes I've got little parentheses this is some serious and grand post up going here and I like the casket the armadol or something I can't remember the name but it's also asking for some type of wanting to be there right really it's like not only is the Borley Rhettery haunted with a nun but let's go see where the nunnery is because she's probably pissed off there too yeah more likely anyway they kind of think that she is wandering around you know what the monastery was looking for her love she's been seen in her many times especially there was a reverend that lived there named Harry Bull and they said that when he lived there she was especially active so just some common things like mysterious footsteps doorbells ringing that they couldn't explain why there was a tall man in a top hat who would pay bedside calls to chamber mates and I don't know if that was like doing doctory bedside calls or creepy stalker incubus type bedside calls it didn't really go into a lot of details so we'll just let your imagination do whatever it wants to do there there is an aged family retainer who was seen and I had to look at pre-tenor to see exactly what it meant and what that is just a member of the staff that had been on with the family for so long that you know when they retired they would just continue to live on the premise there was another lurking prowler without a top hat and also without a head which would explain why there was no top hat I saw one that said there was a spectral coach with two headless horsemen yep see I just got a phantom coach with horses that rolls wildly through the front yard they didn't say that they were headless that would make it way more exciting yeah just having a spectral coach cruising around but with two headless horsemen okay so I follow this page on Facebook called abandoned places and I wish I could remember where it was but there's an abandoned stage coach I want to say it's in Colorado it's just out there and so I saw that today and I read about this phantom coach and so I really want to go see this abandoned coach in Colorado somewhere road trip all right so back to where there's a morning lady at morning like sad not like opposite of nighttime a morning a lady in morning that is thought to be Arabella walled grave she was the daughter of a 17th century lord and then also connected to the walled grave family there is a another nun she's a French nun her name is Marie Lehr and she renounced her vows to marry a walled grave but before that could happen she was strangled and buried in the cellar does it say strangled by whom or why I guess somebody's wasn't really thinking that retent breaking your vows and getting married would be a good thing for a nun so apparently nuns getting married back in the day was just way uncle they invited Harry Price to come live and he lived there for a year and he experienced a lot of these things and he even called one thing like the 16 hours did you guys read about that no I didn't know when he first got there there was like 16 hours of just very intense strong activity that just went on and on and on and they call it the 16 hours so this is this that are living there and after he saw everything going on there he tried to exercise what was there and it didn't work and so Mr. and Mrs. Smith left the rectory in 1930 and it does say that Mrs. Smith found a human female skull at the rectory tells him well we know it wasn't the the nun down the road no because she was buried in some wall somewhere yeah so maybe that was maybe that was the French nuns and also found a skeleton in the will yeah this place just has a really creepy history that's all I can say yeah I found a picture of him like Henry Price in like a tunnel it was really creepy and apparently he found bones in there but then he tried to get like someone to like bury them like the church or something around there and he said no because of the pig bones so don't know if that's confirmed but then he also took a picture of like the ruins or something and there was a floating brick it was for a little tiny pictures I guess it was floating you know I don't know I would love to be out digging somewhere I would love to be an archaeologist I mean digging somewhere my backyard Egypt the rectory and just find human bones I think that would be cool as long as they weren't there in a terrorist I mean if it was there because of well I'm not putting them there I might put a lot of paperwork involved in that there's a time I wanted to be an archaeologist I really did kind of still do every time I see you shall we shall strike that part out digging for bones digging for bones yeah don't tell the FBI let me do it on purpose but you're out digging you're digging in your garden like oh hey what is this you know you be calling the police don't dig where there's headstones and then you're fine whiskey you just ruined when you can plans I won't tell anybody okay so after the Smith's left there was a couple that moved in the Reverend foister and his wife Marianne and they experienced the exact same thing as the Smith's but it got a little more aggressive they had what some people would call pull for this activity and you all know how I feel about that I don't like it listen to the podcast before this one but they were getting noisy ghost kind of angry ghost activity they were getting smashed glass broken windows Marianne was actually thrown from her bed by a force that was unseen and otherworldly messages were written on the walls and I didn't say what they said oh should also be mentioned as well so they also had an adopted daughter that was attacked as well oh the oysters yes that's not good how will do she do you know see if I have it it does not say okay I'm just curious so the Reister family lived there for five years and then they had had enough so they left and the interesting thing is while they were there Harry Price was still living there and that to me is just weird hey come move into this house oh you have a house like 36 rooms though I know it was still be weird still be weird you know during the time he just still live there Harry and just continue to study see and he had a few colleagues the interesting thing though is there was a time time when Harry Price and his colleagues were there alone there was a serious drop in activity and it wasn't just one family you know it's a smith and the smith left and then the Reister's came and the the foister's left and when when there wasn't a reverend in there the activity dropped which makes me wonder if there's no clergy could it possibly have been type three activity demonic activity yeah it makes me think like because one thing I saw where oh potentially it was some wife that was cheating that side make this up but like what if it started out as nothing but then something is now there or all along it's been something really dark or grew from there absolutely yeah filming you brought that up a couple of times I think about the cheating life and I saw that too but I don't remember whether that was the bull's wife Reverend bull's wife or Reverend's wife it was it was the foister's wife okay I had it written down about the wife cheating but I didn't have who it was and she was cheating with like someone that was living there also kind of the same thing I think you know 36 rooms I don't know if they were renting out rooms or or doing things but it was with somebody that was living at the house from what I mean with that many rooms you could have someone living there not know about it exactly the three rooms overall can't catch me you know with the amount of laundry that I do I'm pretty sure there's people living here that I don't know about and I don't have that many rooms but you know so the interesting thing is you know we talked about how the house burned down from from an oil amp they ended up just demolishing it they said there were reports of activity still in the area but it was at the parish church now whiskey you said you had some information about the church on the property yeah I mean the towner I'm not sure what they call it over there we're there with their vicarity proper words but I'm boredly yeah that that pairs of medieval church there's still activity reported there nothing to the extent that that we've heard of the other place which you know depending on the source you talk to some people claim that they said they made it all up you know some people have evidence but at the church they have recordings of door slamming phantom organ music a lot of like classical and quotes haunting type things seeing you know priests walking by nothing that sounds super angry but people that have gone there including just random people if you go on YouTube not just gone to look at church is a beautiful medieval architecture church say they feel like they're being watched they feel like they're being hurried away from there so that's the only negative thing that I've heard about that place that makes me think type one especially if it's or maybe residual yeah absolutely and you know it could be healthy there was a comment about how when the fire was happening they saw like that I'm not looking down from this window so it could be just doing her thing and then I was like looking in windows and maybe it's just a nosy none that's a jewel walking around I don't know now as as we see stated there were there were some skeptics and they've gone back through and looked at some of Harry Price's writings and they there are some things that you could explain through natural occurrences and some things could be debunked you know now with the better technology that we have you know but some of the things couldn't and it's like you know if you ever come on a public investigation with us or if you come to one of the library presentations we talk about how you know the different types of evidence there's pictures there's recordings and then there's personal experiences and personal experiences really are only evidence for you or people that really trust you know because you can't prove that so you know there's a lot of people that dealt with this that have you know their own personal experiences and so you have to decide whether or not to put your faith in the experiences that they have had because I can tell you you know experiences that I have had of seen you know being touched or having my hair pulled or seeing full body apparitions that I can't recreate you know and you have a photographic evidence of it or you don't have a recording so you just have to you know believe me and if you don't it doesn't matter it's you know evidence for me so it's just like well we read a wash a plug how I was thinking about how only two of us heard voices when there was a bunch of people there right next to us yeah or you know we were we all went to bed you know it's three in the morning and we heard the big clunk right above our head yep in a room that I was thankful I was dead asleep then because I was up for over 24 hours I did not want to hear that if you know go back and listen to our podcast on the wash old club but we were asleep at the room above us there was literally nothing there and it couldn't have been kids laughing and breaking because you would have heard footsteps oh there was a feeling with us and also was in the middle at the beginning of February mm-hmm right I mean people could have gotten in there but there was so much snow it would have been really hard and we could barely in there that's there's so icy we're like killing ourselves going down if it had been people in there we would have heard but we just we there was nothing there was a clunk and nothing else and nothing else I mean honestly for me going to that event because I've seen little bits and pieces but I mean for a whole hour to ask flashlights to be read and green on command or you know to ask questions for an hour with like little girl and the music that was just like you have to be there like you can you know it's those kind of things I think that the important thing is like even we do our best to debunk everything and when it comes to even new technology we have it's flashing lights on video half the time right so we're speculating that's paranormal to our best ability and speculating our speculation can send you down a rabbit hole right there's there's no way definitively to prove one way or the other we're just we're doing our best and the same thing happens with any record which is what's happening here people say hey that growl you heard could have been a raccoon I don't know if they're native to that area I don't know if raccoons because that's not North America but that's the thing it's all written there's no it is his personal documents his personal experience and some of it sure can be explained but does that mean that it didn't happen absolutely well and then there's things you know that that you can explain from natural you know oh there was creeks well you know the sun came up and the sighting on your house expanded but there are some things some activity they had keys that would shoot out of keyholes pebbles and candlesticks that would hurl through the air and you know there was nobody there that would have done it you know things like that so you have to go some writing on windows broken windows and when it comes to the word paranormal paranormal just means it's outside of normalcy so it doesn't necessarily always have to mean ghosts either so who knows I do believe in ghosts I do think that there are that at least some of that was ghostly because it was the family that called before anything so like I said when you get to the point where you go are there ghostbusters that we can actually call then there's some sketchy stuff going down you know that is the born the so I did want to touch real briefly I did see an interesting YouTube video that did have the warrants at their recry site and they went to the recry church and they had made some comments there they visited it in the 1970s Lorraine made the statement something is definitely happening and she was very sensitive Ed you know he also was there and part of the I think the none franchise the new movie the none franchise is loosely based on that experience because a lot of the the Conjuring series are Ed and Lorraine Lauren Warren based loosely very loosely very loosely but they've taken that as a you know based on a true story with the really you know heavily based part but it was very interesting to see you know them talking about the the rectoring and the area over there so you know that's a more modern take on this too is from the Warren's so Lorraine said that she saw a black mass entering her room that kind of stuff so there were there's things there yeah and one last thing I mean it's just such an old area and there's so many things and just the energy of so many things over time you know there's gonna be sketchy things happen in the monastery there's gonna be sketchy things happen in rectory is there's gonna be just there's gotta be any close door any any long time place where there's been people yeah and whether it's you know the actual spirits and or just the energy that you feel there's definitely stuff going on you know when we were in P.H.
I was sitting kind of the bar waiting for everybody in there is this couple from the UK that just happened to be in town for the motor motorcycle rally that was going on and they saw our logo you're like hey you know what's going on I was like oh yeah it's place you know there's some reports of haunting and everything are you guys interested in the normal and they look over and they go everywhere where we live is haunted so I yeah I think it's wherever there's history there's hauntings oh yeah absolutely well while I'm talking because I love to do that I should check out our shop at advanced paranormal calm you got something in your house we got cleansing kits from the farmers market I can tell you are lavender sage spray major hit even if you don't think it does anything it smells really good and it does work it does it does work you can spray a little bit on your pillow and just have nice safe unwanted dreams if you want when you're falling asleep yeah I'll check on YouTube take talk you know we post we post the podcast on their Spotify you find us on there as well I know you can fast I don't know I said I think I listen on there that's why I listen to this yeah engage with the content let us know you want to see or read your comments the more the more engagement the more like we are to you know take some clips from our house calls and different public events and more out there for you guys absolutely also here talk about tech stuff you're so excited about the lavender spray that you just forgot I am excited about it smells so good it's like it's so easy to sell at the farmers market which more to come on that you guys might be able to have a little meet and greet when it's not freezing outside with the team on weekend so I just want to talk a little bit about tech I know I'm kind of filling some big shoes here one thing about me and kind of my tech philosophy is I test everything I leave them out on my desk I see what happens I try to figure out how to break them Raven can tell you I will literally go through frame by frame to count how long between things are like things activate identify patterns that might be pre-programmed in different pieces of equipment and things like that yeah he makes me tired he tells me what he does and I just think I don't have that much time or energy but I'm glad you do a lot of caffeine when I just want to know something I got to figure it out so most of my equipment is actually based in different things hardly any of its labeled like ghost or paranormal research a lot of it's for HVAC making sure you know your vents are putting out the right temperature for ambient temperature surface temperature place ways to identify hidden devices by looking for radio waves you know the trifield meter does that as well there's a lot of cheap options on Amazon to get in and do that but I always recommend if you're interested in something paranormal tech-wise try to figure out what it is and then look for like the home depot equivalent generally you'll get some numbers associated with it which help with researching and you have a better you know home people's probably not gonna make a emf meter that goes off randomly really suit somebody that's trying to build something but somebody that's you know selling paranormal supplies might which is another reason why I create a lot of my equipment right now I'm working on a couple new REM pod type devices that actually hacked from door alarms that you attached to your hotel or door that detect static through the door or change off the handle using as a antenna so more to come on that you guys see at the next public event trying to print some custom little boxes with the apps logo to put it in but what I'm looking to do there is create a REM pod that I can control the volume so I can either have it flash have it be loud if it's in a different room but if we're having an EVP session some of my beeps get really annoying especially if you're a ghost that found out you can make a beep from one of my devices for the first time we all remember that one ghost yes that's just held on to it it's like you would you please go turn that off yeah I was just dealing with it for like five minutes straight yeah I turn off move it reset it and after like just a minute just start holding it again so I don't I don't know but what I do know at least in creating my own devices is it whatever it is is paranormal I don't know what that means entirely I try my best to quantify it and that's what I like about this team is the typing system everything like that but yeah I'm excited to bring you guys some equipment reviews and talk a little more about my specific pieces of equipment as we go forward and again if there's anything you guys are curious about I present just to choose my social media and I will gladly answer questions I'm excited to see your homemade REM pods those would be fun especially the ones with stickers on I'm excited to see them too whenever I'm working on them hey don't know what you got for us okay so I was gonna talk about maybe like some sort of stone to go with like New Year but you know what I was at Key West I feel really bad for you I know it's our except for okay no listen I go I've happened some weird black okay so I go on a cruise in November tropical storm right in the middle of the cruise like treat like the stuff flying off right and then I go to us last month tropical storm again so if you need a tropical storm we just need to be out okay but when I get there so I've been trying to go to like different locations like I've been to Maine in Alaska in the past few summers and I got like a stone that goes with the area so I got a conch shell and I probably say terribly wrong and I can't with my life with that but my conch shell I got a ring it's like a little tiny little pinkish orange heart that's a piece of conch shell so I was looking up like I don't know the properties of it what people think they're believed to be bringers of good luck and good fortune and they symbolize the feminine and all blessings associated with that aspect birth for generation marriage and fertility also be strengthened by the shell I'm not sure I want some of those things to happen in my life but I'll take the good luck and good fortune but yeah yeah so I like to try to get different rings that kind of go with different places so that was my recent collection very cool I just want to remind everybody of our shot best part of our house you can get your agents you're a super natural swag like we've got cups we've got our shirts we've got sweaters even notebooks and tapestries people we have a history we have tapestries I have one we're going right behind us right now yeah I was I was a little obsessed with the tapestries I don't have any room I really want them though little full so so normally Raven would do her paranormal jump door right now but Raven forgot to do the jump door my day today has been just from start to finish slam to busy and I'm amazed that I even was able to research this podcast so my my jump drawer was introducing whiskey at the start of the podcast yep yep better than being in the trunk maybe my junk door needs to be explaining to whiskey what the junk is what the is is when you open your junk door you just never know what you're gonna find in there it
