Batswana have called on the government of Botswana to address the challenge of unemployment, especially among the youth, as it holds independence celebrations. The World bank report indicates that unemployment rate in Botswana can be estimated at around 17 point eight percent. This leads to graduates having to stay at home after completing their studies. The landlocked country's economy is heavily reliant on diamond mining, and calls by its citizens have been mounting over the years for government to diversify the economy.
