In the first of a series of themed episodes about the Economic Value of the Outback Way, Helen speaks with Rick Britton about Boulia and the Pastoral Industry. In upcoming episodes Helen will speak to people from other industries about how the sealing of the Outback Way has value not only to people who live in the area, but more broadly to The Australian economy too. Rick is a Pastoralist and Grazier, and also the Mayor of Boulia in QLD. Rick tells us a bit about his story as a 5th generation family beef enterprise, and about the operation he runs. Helen and Rick also discuss the value of having the Outback Way sealed, compared to when it was dirt, to Rick's business personally, and also the benefits to the Boulia Shire and the Pastoral Industry of NT and QLD.
