Boundaries, business, and babies with Caroline Brunne

from Building A Mumpire Podcast · host Leah & Jess

Carolyn Brunne, founder of Organised.Curate.Design, joins the Building A Mumpire podcast. Carolyn is passionate about helping her clients empower themselves through the right tools to stay focused and become the best version of themselves. In this episode, Carolyn talks about her journey as a mother and business owner without mentioning the words “mum” or “business owner”. She is a single mother with two sons, and has been building her business for the past five years. Carolyn wants to provide a supportive community for mums who are trying to juggle both motherhood and their own businesses. She hopes to help mums stay clear on their intentions and stay focused on their goals. Caroline Brunne is a safe space holder for anyone in her presence. She is passionate about bringing out the best in people and creating the energy they need to be their best selves. She is a business owner and a mum, but is aware of the importance of taking time to remember who she is outside of these titles. Caroline tries to bring out the best in everyone, and although this may come with tough questioning, it is part of her life journey. Caroline was an accidental entrepreneur, as she was originally headhunted to be an employee. However, when the business owner was in discussions with an investor, he decided to not go ahead with them and offered her equity in the business instead. This led to Caroline starting her own business, instead of continuing as an employee. She stuck it to the man by taking control of her own career and creating her own opportunities. This is a reminder to think about who we are and how we live, and to not be afraid to take risks and pursue our own paths. She was an accidental entrepreneur, who had been in business with her business partner for three years and adopted the business as her own. When she decided to leave, a friend analogised it to her as being like a step-parent who loves their stepchildren, but can't control how they are parented. The speaker eventually left the business and launched her own in 2017, partly to stick it to the man and partly because she and her business partner were at different stages of their lives. They parted ways amicably and sold the business. USEFUL LINKS Follow Caroline on Socials: Instagram Facebook Check our Caroline's website for more information.
