from Bourgmeisterin · host Bourgmeisterin
🎙️𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴!🎙️If Luxembourg ever had a mastermind behind its “𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺, 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦” energy, it was 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 💼✨ He wasn’t just Luxembourg’s Prime Minister – he was the guy who turned the Grand Duchy into a 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁🇪🇺 From brokering the 𝘓𝘶𝘹𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦 (because who doesn’t love a good political cliffhanger?) to building Kirchberg’s European Quarter, Werner made sure Luxembourg wasn’t just on the map – 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.When Belgium🇧🇪 randomly devalued its currency in ’82 😳, Werner didn’t panic – he built 𝗟𝘂𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗴’𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲, 𝘱𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 for its future 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸. And while everyone else was still thinking “banks and steel,” he was already dreaming 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 🚀 and a 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝘂𝗯💰 The result? A Luxembourg so 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 it ended up helping invent the euro.Oh, and in his “spare” time, he also gave Luxembourg its 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘄, a national culture fund, and a new generation of leaders (👀 hello, young Juncker!).Pierre Werner: part economist, part visionary, part secret agent of Europe’s rise.Find out more at www.bourgmeisterin.com!
