Boyd Near Return, Crow-Armstrong On Fire

Matthew Boyd is inching closer to returning to the mound after a biceps strain and knee surgery, with a solid rehab start and bullpen session giving hope for a big league comeback—manager Craig Counsell says consistency is key. Meanwhile, Seiya Suzuki remains sidelined in the outfield due to knee discomfort, though he’s hitting well, leaving Matt Shaw to shine in right field with power and production. And on the bright side, Pete Crow-Armstrong is on fire, earning NL Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks with a blistering June performance. The Cubs are navigating some injury hurdles—but with Boyd’s return looming and Crow-Armstrong’s dominance, the future looks promising.
