And his opinion. So I did some real quick digging on the seven candidates that are Republican. Right. The gubernatorial candidates. Right. Pamela Yvette was the only one of the seven who definitely in print said, I will fight for closed primaries. Well, I know Ralph Norman has said that on this program. And it's not on his website, not a mention. It should probably be a big headline. Yeah, I worry about the ones who say things. 00:56 I want to see it in print. he and, uh let's see, Joshua Kimbrel and Alan Wilson and Nancy Mace didn't really mention it on their websites, but they had a way to contact them. So I've sent a contact to all three of those asking, asking specific. Ralph Norman evades it completely. 01:27 RomReady is the only one of the seven who says in response to my question of it, uh there is no specific position on closed primaries currently stated in Rom's platform. Now, wait a minute. Did you send like an email to RomReady's I went on RomReady's for Governor website. 01:53 And there's a place to ask questions. said, my number one concern is enactment of closed primaries in South Carolina. What is your position on closed primaries? Yeah. And they went blah, blah, blah, supporting proof of citizenship and strong verification. There is no specific position though on closed primaries currently stated in ROM's platform. ROM wants elections to be fair, transparent, and trusted by all South Carolinians. And that's it. 02:23 Huh, that's interesting. Because right here on this show, just the other day, he said it, I've got, Brad, when was it? When was it, JJ? Thursday the 26th. Yeah, just unbelievable. Brad, I appreciate that, thank you. So this is how that conversation went. I said, how do you feel about closing the primary? 02:50 Because a lot of these people in the House and the Senate benefit from open primaries here in South Carolina. Should we close them? RomReady replied, how do I feel? 100%. We should close them. But not close them with all this cockamamie nonsense. We should just close them. That was a quote from RomReady. And now people who are asking the questions and you're the, and I want to thank you very much. 03:19 because you're the second person that has said that from their campaign, they're saying that Rom Ready is either not for closing the primaries or he has no position. That to me is very interesting. It really is. I mean, this is a big issue. I don't believe, I really don't, when 86 % 03:46 of the voting Republicans, 86 % want the primaries closed. Could it be that these people just don't care? Yeah, well, that could be it. We know that Governor Henry McMaster has already said that he would veto any legislation that closes the primaries. We all know that the judiciary, gotta look at Weston Newton for this one, 04:16 They've kept the close of the primary bills wrapped up in committee because you don't understand.
