Brain Miller The State of the Dream

BRIAN MILLER, Executive Director of United for a Fair Economy Before coming to UFE, Brian served as executive director of Tennesseans for Fair Taxation (TFT) from 1997 to 2009. Earlier he was a community organizer for Louisiana Coalition for Tax Justice, Louisiana Citizen Action, and Community Farm Alliance in Kentucky With TFT, he helped bring Tennessee to the brink of comprehensive tax reform, including creation of a state income tax, and later to pass the state's first food tax reduction. Brian and the other authors of the report, "The State of the Dream 2010 Drained: Jobless and Foreclosed; Pulling the Plug in Communities of Color," can tell the story of the Great Recession using a racial lens; and they can suggest policies that would narrow the racial wealth gap and bring economic recovery to all Americans.
