Brand South Africa - the official marketing agency of the country - has a new Chief Executive Officer: on the first of this month experienced former diplomat Kingsley Makhubela assumed the postion, for the period 2015 to 2020. Mr Makhubela has had an illustrious and distinguished career in the public service, having recently concluded his tenure as the Director-General of the Department of Tourism. He also has a long career in the diplomatic service, serving most recently as the Chief of State Protocol at the Department of International Relations and Co-operation, and between 1996 and 2005 her served South Africa in the capacity of Ambassador to Portugal and High Commissioner to Kenya. Another feather in Mr Mathebula cap is that he is very familiar with the African developmental agenda, and this will be of great benefit to his new postion.
