My advice is for you to RUN, not walk, away from any business dealings with Jon Totherow. I’m still hearing from people stuck in the hell that Jon Totherow creates for his clients – and that’s why I recorded this video.3. Further, I have spoken with almost a dozen of his clients – and it’s not like they just aren’t happy, they’re livid, upset and angry. I discovered this via an open records request – more on that later.4. This is the common pattern of Jon Totherow Constructiona. He’s hardly ever on the job because he “moonlights” as a builder while working as a Cop in Chattanooga – something he never tells you upfront.b. His budgeting process is crapc. He was over one-year late completing my house - Higher interest rates- Higher carrying costs- Lost the loan at the end because he dragged on for so longd. He does not have basic building knowledgee.  He is disorganized and never writes anything down – you are the organizer.f. He only has a very limited number of low-quality subs – and most of them dislike him.g.   He flooded my house, then refused to take care of the damage…- I  had to file with my builder’s risk insurance, they subrogated him- My home insurance rates doubledh. He is dishonest, manipulative and uncaring about his clients.i. They over promise and under deliver on the service, and that’s an understatement5. Issues we had…a. Plumbing leaks galoreb. AC condensate leaksc. Roof leaks galore – had to call someone else in after he threw 3 different roofing amateurs at it.d. They put a sound device in our homee. He will not build your home in accordance with the plans -Attic - Stairsf. Improper foundation framingg. 4 Fireplaces failed inspection – no one read the directionsh. He liened my house for unfinished worki. I was paying cash above and beyond my loan, made him do it through the bank to get paid – worked out6. This is how bad it got toward the end…a. Open records requestb. Attorneyc. Home inspectors - The list of things found incomplete, out of code or missing was a mile long…d. Filing a complaint with the statee. It’s the ONLY thing that motivated him7. If you haven’t moved forward, don’t8.  If you have, make sure you…a.  Lawyer upb. Hold him accountable from day onec. Get a good home inspector – use at every staged. File a complaint with the state licensing board.e.
