As a child, she was diagnosed with rheumatic fever and told she would never walk again. Later, doctors said she would not live past 26 due to a heart defect. She recently turned 50.She is not just surviving. She is thriving.Today, Brandy and Joachim lead a nonprofit ministry focused on reaching those who feel lost, forgotten, or trapped in cycles of abuse. They work with survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, offering spiritual guidance, practical support, and when needed, connecting people to additional resources.What struck me most was this, Brandy does not speak from theory. She is a survivor of abuse herself and spent seven years in counseling to ensure she was fully restored before stepping into ministry to help others. One of her favorite success stories involves helping a woman safely leave an abusive marriage and rebuild her life.
