This song was played on Stuart Maconie’s show on BBC6 (16th December, 2018) Brave Jamel https://news.sky.com/story/boy-9-killed-himself-after-homophobic-bullying-at-colorado-school-mother-says-11484130 Nine years old in a Pokemon fronted t-shirt All he wanted was a seat with the kids on the yellow bus The whispers in the corridors wouldn’t go away A logical conclusion made easy for him to say He told the truth Lost on a lonely road Walking the quiet lane to save his mothers pain Cruelly a child provoked Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings never named Brave Jamel Meanwhile an old man arrives on a rainy Ireland Says sorry for the wrongs of his brothers in the past Answers to this “problem” sought, so he paused a while Turning to his book he claims could have “cured” this child It’s you who’s sick Lost on a lonely road Trapped in a dead end street to save his mothers pain Cruelly a child provoked Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings never named Brave Jamel Brave Jamel A child provoked so cruelly for his “sins” Brave Jamel From the mouths of babes and sucklings From the mouths of babes and sucklings It’s you who needs help It’s you who needs help
