James Tromans discovered coding from a young age then later studied psychology at Oxford. Learning a combination of qualitative, quantitative and analytical thinking helped set up James for a career spanning start-ups, financial markets and big tech as well as earning a PhD in Computational Neuroscience of Vision. Learn how having a technology background is not a prerequisite to work in fintech and discover how people skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, proactivity, passion and a thirst for knowledge will help you to accelerate your career.  James is now a Technical Director within the Office of the CTO at Google Cloud specialising in data engineering and machine learning. Prior to joining Google, James worked in capital markets at Citi in various front-office currency trading and technology leadership roles, most recently as Head of Data Science.
