Breakin’ (1984) with Peter Paras
You’ve heard him on the commentaries, now get to know Peter Paras a little better here on the show proper. Peter has recently shifted into a newer endeavor of producing video essays on YouTube. His first one was on the film Step Up 2: The Streets. Which is fitting because… He chose a stone cold classic for this episode’s discussion – BREAKIN’! I unabashedly love this movie and was excited he picked it. We have a very lengthy conversation on the film and really get into other things like how films can be great without the typical technical prestige that many of the greats come by and get by on other nontraditional strengths. Peter and I also get into some other tangents as well. You’re probably going to want to check back in on this episode for the uncut version on YouTube Thursday because I had a lot to trim for this one. And its TERRIFIC stuff too. Just a bit much way off topic and some of it took too long to get to Breakin’. So there’s a heads up from me.
