Breaking Barriers – Implementing Status-Neutral HIV Screening and Prevention for All
from CME Outfitters Medical Education · host CME Outfitters Medical Education
Despite significant strides in HIV prevention, global incidence rates remain high, especially among underserved populations, due in part to persistent barriers in routine screening and access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Many healthcare professionals across the globe, including HIV and infectious disease specialists, primary care clinicians, and pharmacists, lack adequate training on implementing status-neutral screening strategies and integrating newer PrEP modalities, such as long-acting injectables, into practice. Cultural stigma, low health literacy, and system-level workflow challenges further hinder global prevention efforts and widen care disparities. Education is needed to equip clinicians worldwide with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to adopt status-neutral HIV prevention approaches that are culturally sensitive, patient-centered, and aligned with current guidelines. In the first activity of this CME Outfitters Snack series, expert faculty from the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia will discuss how to develop tailored strategies that address barriers to status-neutral HIV screening and effective HIV prevention strategies such as PrEP.Learn More Here
