Breaking free from Lust (Pt. 1)

from Teacher’s Den · host Anne

1 John 2 vs 15-17 - Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Matthew 5:29- If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. This does not literally mean, gouging out your eyes but doing anything that you can to stop your eyes from causing you to sin. God hates sin and He wants us to do likewise. If we are sincere, we should be able to say the reason why we desire all this vain things is to build our ego and self esteem but this is not what is needed. God is enough for you and for me. Deuteronomy 8 vs 18- And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. God loves you and wants the best for you, never forget that.
