Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, welcome to the Daily Mayhem Podcast. I'm your host Jack package. We have an emergency breaking news situation that we're going to come to you with today. A couple of things first to get out of the way.
Number one, super excited to announce that the Daily Mayhem Podcast can now be found on Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Anchor, basically any place where you listen to podcasts. If you're not using one of those five or six sites, I don't know who you are. You probably own an Android and aren't friends with me. That being said, follow me, Jack Package at JMU Monte on Twitter.
Follow the podcast at the Daily Mayhem 1 on Twitter. If you can, now that we're getting out into a few more platforms, like and subscribe and rate the podcast, then if you're going to rate it lowly, ignore what I just ignored what I said. Rate it high and subscribe. It changes the algorithms and moves us to the tops of the list.
Everything else will help us out with that. Breaking news podcast today, this won't take long, but I have with me the CEO and president of Pinehurst Golf, Mr. Ken Preedy to make an announcement. Are you with me?
Can you hear me, Kenny? Yes. Thank you, John. Busy Saturday here at Pinehurst HQ.
We've got a lot of college football about to start. English Premier League soccer on some of the screens here. My wife's away in Nashville, Tennessee for six days. So I am trying to make sure that my two younger children eat more than just mac and cheese and chicken nuggets so far so good.
But no, breaking news here at Pinehurst headquarters. I don't know how you want to do this, but I'm ready to go when you are, sir. Well, I mean, I got looped in here this morning, Kenny, and this is sort of shocking important news that we need to cover. We are now what, 26 days away from Pinehurst, and you've got an announcement to make and a couple of changes I think coming our way, right?
Let's just hear it. Break the news too, buddy. Sad news. Sad news.
I've formed earlier this week. Myrtle Mayhem OG Rick Moran has been to every Myrtle. He's one of four Myrtleers who have been to everyone. And he, unfortunately, will not be able to participate as a golfer at Pinehurst Pandemonium 22.
He will have to sit this one out, undisclosed reasons, understandably so. We will miss Rick. I believe he's still going to come down and serve in some sort of honorary position. Do a Davis love driving around in the card perhaps.
But no, Rick Moran is unable to attend and play golf at Pinehurst Pandemonium. Okay, Kenny. So Ricky was part of Team Package, right? The whiskey business squad.
Yes. Am I right about that? Yes. He was a whiskey business, sir.
We went to the captain of that team earlier in the week yourself. Yes. And I have secured a replacement for Mr. Moran.
I understand. I have. Yes. I was able to reach out.
I know the boys in Richmond in that charter calling neighborhood. They did some reach outs, extended some offers. And I was excited to be able to make an offer to one of my co-workers and really, Kenny found out about the Myrtle Mayhem and Pinehurst trips through this podcast. So really, our first fan interaction where they're joining the Mayhem and the Pandemonium.
Correct. Would you like to announce who it is? Yeah, breaking the fourth wall of podcasting here. A fan is now joined the group.
I hope I pronounce his name right. He's a tall guy, tall young drink of water. His name is Walter Meza or Meza. I don't know.
I've only texted with him. But Walter will be joining us in 26 days in the San Tills of North Carolina. Yes. People are excited about that.
Kenny, you hear that? The crowd is going nuts. Obviously, James, a thousand. That's the sound effect, John.
We don't need any more of that. Yeah, he'll be there. He's taking Rick's spot on your team, the whiskey business. And I don't know much about him.
I think you're going to schedule him for an interview or some sort of exclusive. We control his media rights as Pinehurst's Pandemonium, Pivgolf. We're very tight on that. We don't want anybody going off the reservation.
So he has authorized to speak to the media. And I believe you're going to have him on your show. He will take Rick's spot on day one. He will be paired with Steve Hardeman on your matchup against Reed and Marsh.
He will be playing the new guy on the first day at Southern Pines. So, yeah, that's the news out of headquarters. It's exciting news. So first of all, Kenny, I call him Walter Maza.
He's never corrected me, but I've never asked. So the next time I see him, I'll get the correct pronunciation. It's going to be sometime this week. We'll get him on the podcast.
There's some talking points that he's got to go over and we've got to sit down with him to make sure that he's ready to greet the media. It's very exciting. A lot of requests coming in. But yes, we will have the first interview with Walter.
As you said, Walter is just a beautiful specimen of a man, a big 6-2 Peruvian, just a dream, just tall, dark and handsome, a golf swing like butter. This guy is absolutely a Myrtle golfer. He's just simply awful, but he can drink. Occasionally hits the ball straight, Ken Putt.
When he connects, hits him big, but he connects about 8% of the time. So I think he'll fit right in. And more importantly here, let's say before we talk about Walter, let's just say shout out to Rick. Hope all the best for your health, Rick.
And hope that you do make the trip down and you Davis love the whole event and get around in a cart and kind of keep everybody apprised of how it's going. Make some observations on the way guys are hitting and maybe help me, your team captain, make some decisions on how we pair things up on days two and three. But I'm sure Walter's excited. Walter is a guy that I work with.
I've known for about a year. Awesome guy. We've played a lot of golf together this summer, Kenny. So Walter was super excited.
He got into the podcast last March and we were blowing it up about Myrtle. I thought it was just crazy. Couldn't believe the event and he's going to get the peak behind the curtain now. So he's in it.
He's in it and he'll get a taste of what it's like. And I'm sure he's super excited. We'll also get him, Kenny traveling in style. We'll go to the Admirals Club.
I'll take him to the Admirals Club on the way down and then maybe have a greeting party for him down there in R.D.U. Right? Oh no, did I lose you Kenny? Oh, Ken, Ken, Ken.
All right. Well, sounds like I lost Ken. Ken, are you there? All right.
Well, I think we've lost Ken. Okay. So that being said, we will have a driver. Oh, you're choppy there, Kenny.
There you are. You sound like you're back. Are you back, Kenny? Can you hear me?
I can barely hear you, Kenny. Go ahead. No, yeah. We've lost Kenny.
Anyway, we'll wrap the podcast up here. Walter, we will have a party there meeting you and Raleigh to get you to whiskey off the Pine Hearst. Excited to have you. Ricky feel better.
Hardeman, get ready because you're going to have to carry Walter on day one. And we're just excited. The podcast is excited. We're 26 days away from Pine Hearst.
It's time to get out. Hit balls, practice, do the whole thing. And while you're at it, subscribe, like the podcast, review it, please for us and pass it out to all your friends. We appreciate it.
We'll give you updates from North Carolina while the tournament's going on. You'll get some predictions, some live events and live coverage of the pandemonium in Pine Hearst. Kenny, I'm sorry, we lost you on the audio there. But thanks for listening, everybody.
We'll talk soon. We'll bring you an interview with Walter, the new guy at Pine Hearst this week. Thanks, everybody. See you.
See you.
