Breaking News: Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic: Hurricane Melissa

from Stories of Hope & Help · host ORH

Hurricane Melissa reached the theoretical limits of how powerful a storm can be on planet Earth. A major hurricane with 185 mph sustained winds, Melissa struck the island nation of Jamaica on October 27, 2025. The outlying tropical storm winds also flooded the western peninsula of Haiti and parts of the Dominican Republic. In this episode, Jan Milton tells us about the coordinated relief efforts of Operation Renewed Hope and our partner organizations. We are working on providing relief to Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In the next episode, we will share more about this situation.
