BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Indicts Cuban President Raúl Castro

BREAKING NEWS: The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted former Cuban leader Raúl Castro, 94, and several others over the 1996 shootdown of two civilian planes operated by the exile group Brothers to the Rescue, which killed four people. Prosecutors allege Castro, then Cuba’s defense minister, played a role in ordering the attack. Charges include murder, destruction of aircraft, and conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals. The historic indictment marks a major escalation in U.S.-Cuba tensions.
