The Washington Commanders are wasting no time this off-season on making moves, and the latest domino to fall is placing the franchise tag on Daron Payne. After releasing both Carson Wentz and Bobby McCain, Washington has decided to place the franchise tag on star Defensive Tackle Daron Payne who is coming off of his best season as a Commander. According to John Keim, both sides are still working on a long-term deal, and have until July 15th to get the deal done.
