Breaking the old boys’ club: battling systemic bias in academic science

The social justice uprising of the last year has led to a lot of conversations about the ways marginalized groups are often excluded. That’s not always because of  conscious prejudice: but because built-in systems and cultures often limit the opportunities for women, BIPOC, LGBTQ individuals and others.A new paper by an Oregon State University professor looks at how this kind of exclusion happens in the workplace- specifically, in the academic sciences.
