Guest BIO: Brother Brandon X is a proud graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford, CT. Upon graduation, Brandon followed in the footsteps of one of his Mentors: The Honorable Walter Doc Hurley and enrolled at Virginia State University in the fall of 2003. However, Brandon suffered an unfortunate life altering experience that he elaborates more on in his book Madness to Ministry. Nevertheless, against incredible odds he would go on to graduate with honors with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. Brother Brandon is currently a MSW student, with the intent to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to help serve his people who are affected by mental health challenges. Learning the importance of philanthropy during his college career, since graduation Brandon has been involved in many projects. Some of his efforts include an annual food drive, toy drive and his continued work as a Mental Health Advocate through his non-profit agency, The 7ove Kingdom Inc. (an social emotional learning enrichment center, located in Hartford, CT) Brandon is truly a leader in his community and has partnered with many others to help foster change and make a difference in his community, raising awareness on Mental Health while eradicating the stigma surrounding mental illness.
