Breaking the Stigma: A Chat with Kendall Concini

from Mess to Mission · host Lindsey Paulson

A Note from the Author: I’m Kendall Concini-Moore — a children’s author, mental health advocate, and the heart behind Mom’s Cloud at the Beach: Shining Light on Big Feelings. My work grew out of my own journey through motherhood and mental health — learning, sometimes the hard way, that emotions don’t need fixing, they need space to be felt.Writing became my way of turning the mess into meaning. Mom’s Cloud at the Beach helps families talk about parental depression and emotional awareness through story — giving kids language for feelings and reminding adults that it’s okay to not be okay.Through my blog, Cloudy Day Chronicles, and a growing collection of stories about emotional regulation and family connection, I share tools that invite openness, patience, and play into the conversation around mental health. At the heart of everything I do is a belief that connection heals — and that storytelling can turn even our cloudiest moments into light for someone else. It’s been an amazing journey connecting with mental health podcasts and therapeutic agencies to build community, resources, and shared support.
