The story of Jonah often gets reduced down to cartoonish caricature of a defiant, rebellious unbeliever. However, the story of Jonah is actually a very relevant, reflection of the average, complacent believer. By all accounts, Jonah is a good man - better than most in his generation. Jonah had served many years as a faithful prophet in Israel, but at some point, he drifted to a place of self-righteousness and religious pride.
