This week Tee is so excited to welcome Brenda Wollenberg and Alicia Mazari-Andersen for an in-depth and enlightening conversation about the role that your genes play in detoxification and the emerging field of science known as Epigenetics. Brenda Wollenberg is a specialist in natural wellness programs with a unique blend of experience as a social worker, co-leader of a faith community, and nutritionist. Over the decades, she has developed proficiency in helping clients understand the science of their genetics and identify patterns of behavior that might be affecting their gene expression. But it doesn't stop there. Brenda guides them in shifting their habits - food, exercise, stress management, and supplements to support their overall health. She has had the privilege of being featured on TV and podcasts, her articles have been published in various print media and she is the author of 'Overweight Kids in a Toothpick World' and 'Eat. Sleep. Move. For Your Genetic Body Type'. Brenda is joined by Alicia Mazari-Andersen, a Biologist and Nutritionist with over 25 years of experience as a University Instructor in Biology and a decade of coaching folks in holistic nutrition. Brenda has a wealth of experience and knowledge having earned a PhD in Botany, she has spent countless hours unraveling the genetic root causes of health challenges and finding ways to overcome them. Alicia is not just talking the talk though, she is walking the walk. As a mother of three young adults, she has learned the importance of balance and self-care. She believes her body is her temple and she makes it a priority to stay fit and healthy, supporting her body with the nutrients it needs. She is all about practicing what she preaches, from getting good sleep and eating right to staying active and staying hydrated.  In this conversation, Brenda and Alicia dive into the many new discoveries that are being made on how we can rewrite our genetic makeup to better battle toxins and overcome health obstacles and chronic pain. Brenda and Alicia guide listeners step by step through their research while breaking down the scientific realities of their findings. Brenda and Alicia also offer practical advice on how you can begin to explore your genetic makeup while also guiding us through some of the common questions that people have about Epigenetics revealing how each individual's genes and genetic makeup are so unique.
