Brian Fies: Emmy Award-Winning Graphic Novelist Shares Storytelling Secrets

  Brian Fies is a writer and cartoonist who has published four graphic novels including A Fire Story, which is about losing his home in the devastating California wildfires of 2017. He has been nominated for many honors and won a few of them, including the comic industry’s Eisner, Harvey, Lulu and Inkpot awards, the German Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, and a TV Emmy Award. Brian’s varied careers include stints as a newspaper reporter, freelance journalist, environmental chemist, and science writer.
