DJ Fasmwa Mixes DJ Fasmwa DJ Fasmwa is a Caribbean musical specialist, based in Sydney, Australia whose focus is on the musical genres of Soca, Dancehall & Reggae. DJ FASMWA has a unique bond to these genres due to his Caribbean ancestry. He understands the nuances of the genre, and allows the listeners to experience the very best in the music, whilst taking them on a musical journey. #caribbeanmusicinnotahobbyitisapassion He started hearing Caribbean DJs and music played as a young boy, growing up closely with his Caribbean uncles and aunts. This is where his journey with music started, soon learning to play the piano, steel drum and guitar. In 1996, he did a work experience placement at 88.9fm radio Skidrow, on the ‘African Vibrations’ show, which was the introduction into the DJing world. He immediately fell in love with the electric responses he would have when selecting songs and playing them.
