Bridge Building Podcast Episode 53: Datta Podcast: Designing people out of their homes.

from DattaQueensland's podcast

My original thought for today was to talk to a young designer about his thoughts on how he see's design working against the people of New York and a bit about a Google program that he has been accepted into that is training young people to work in that field.   Francis Bazil is that young designer and he is quite simply a very impressive young man, so we did talk about what I was hoping to in the first fifteen minutes or so. Then things started on a bit of a tangent and then another which is why the show today is longer than normal. I don't think it will come even close to showing you that I have found myself in a completely different universe these last weeks. So if you want to hear some of enormity of this place that is new York the last half may be a fun listen. And I am only going to say this a couple of more time but just to set the scene, this conversation was recorded in Andrew Carnegie's mansion - now the museum – which is on fifth avenue overlooking central park.     And remember the 2024 Teacher Excellence Awards are looking for nominations right now so look to your left and look to your right. Because you may be sitting right next to someone who deserves to be applauded. There are two awards the Design and Technology teacher of the year and the contribution to design and technology education award for that person who is not a teacher but still does great things for our teaching area.    Thank you, Francis, it was great fun!
