According to their website, the reasons cited include: Federal, regional and state enforcement of clean water safeguards Innovative local water management, prioritizing natural infrastructure and equity State collaboration to ensure adequate water supplies Federal protections for the free-flowing river However, one unheralded champion is trying to make a comeback: the freshwater bivalves that include mussels. Dr. Danielle Kreeger explains her work at the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary and is trying to literally grow the population of the mussels throughout the Delaware River Watershed.
