Brigitte MacGowan – maternity leave and a mothers group friendship led to the globally successful ‘State of Escape’ range

Brigitte MacGowan originally quit her job in agency world to join husband Hamish’s business, a wine company that make the very successful ‘Angus the Bull’ range. But it was while on maternity leave and through a chance meeting at mothers group with now best mate Desley Maidment that ‘State of Escape’ was born. The brands signature ‘Escape bag’ soon earned cult status here in Australian and now seven years on the iconic neoprene tote bag is a much-loved fashion staple the world over.
